Counterintuitive Worked

Kay, surely you’ll be cancelling everything next week?” was the advice a friend gave me.

Why?

With a flurry of activity in our world with our hound Jeffrey going in for emergency heart surgery and a number of events I said “Yes” to recently – it would have been easy to pull them all.

Jeffrey had 2 operations.  Firstly the main, planned surgery went well…until it didn’t.  Then an emergency surgery to repair a further bleed.

He truly had a broken heart .

The Heart Surgeon and her team at Dick White Referrals in Newmarket *in case you ever need such a place* have been, and still are, amazing.

The phrase Keep Calm & Carry On was what kept me going this week.

  • Hosting a Speed Mentoring event for 18 people
  • Hosting a Group Mentoring call for my precious clients
  • 5 private client meetings
  • Hosting a Webinar for 70 Governance professionals
  • Meeting with a Government prospect to flesh out what we might do together
  • All in the same week!

I’m not saying this to impress you in any way.

I’m sharing this to encourage you to go the counterintuitive route if you feel you can.

When it’s possible to continue because there’s nothing else you can do about something…it really helped me.

In context to your own situations as they arise, maybe it will help you to continue to show up AND to be kind to yourself as you do.

  • Salt baths with lavender *recommended by my Energy Practitioner, Neena Saith* have really helped.
  • Early nights with no alcohol
  • Chats with friends and LOTS of silence when I needed it.

 In other news…

=================

Jeffrey went from this on Tuesday, post first op…

To this yesterday, post 2nd op and up & about.  More time recuperating but we’re so grateful  – he’s only 7 and we’ve given him another shot at being a great, active and pesky hound…
